Rugged CAN Bus Equipment Print E-mail
We are developing a range of rugged CAN Bus equipment primarily for specialist vehicles where the supply is 24 volts. The requirement in this market is very cost sensitive and the equipment must survive in a harsh mechanical and electrical environment. The price of the units is offset by the reduction in vehicle harness design, manufacturing and material cost. The system adds flexibility too, by accomodating variations in customer specifications. The system consists of a central controller connected to several nodes on the CAN Bus. One node is normally in the vehicle cab and takes inputs from panel switches and control levers. It outputs to panel lamps and displays as required. Other nodes are placed close to the local loads such as lamp clusters. Inputs from these nodes can be lamp failure detectors, switches, or linear inputs from engine temperature or pressure sensors for example. High quality connectors are used and the enclosures can be specified to IP66 to withstand high pressure hose washing.

Diesel Injector Drive Boards Print E-mail

New injector drive circuits were required to fit into an existing electronic truck controller unit to investigate the performance of new types of injector. PCM has designed and supplied different boards with varying supply voltage requirements, for example, to this general design.
